The Maf Pomone sorts by weight and by camera. A roller section gives an even feed to the vee belt singulator.
Rotating bicones take each tuber and turn them as they pass beneath the cameras.
Each tuber is then passed over load cells for weighing and then placed into a 'hand'.
The transfer from one section to the next is made with no drops at all and so the 'egg-type' treatment is given to the crop.
They are then tipped gently onto designated outlet conveyors towards the next process.
Shown here is a four lane Pomone. The cameras are successfully removing 'greens' bruising and mishshapes. They also shape size the tubers so oval shape tubers can be separated from round ones therefor fully utilising the crop.
